Proposed Local Law No. 2 of the Year 2025

A Local Law to Impose a Moratorium on the Creation of New Solar Farms and New Battery Energy Storage Systems in the Town of Mount Morris

Date & Time: Thursday, October 16, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Town Board of the Town of Mount Morris will hold a public hearing on the above date and time at the location stated for the purpose of hearing all persons interested in proposed Local Law No. 2 of 2025, entitled “A Local Law to Impose a Moratorium on the Creation of New Solar Farms and New Battery Energy Storage Systems in the Town of Mount Morris.”

The proposed local law would temporarily prohibit the acceptance, processing, and/or approval of applications, permits, licenses, or approvals for new solar farms and new battery energy storage systems within the Town of Mount Morris. This moratorium would remain in effect until March 1, 2026, pending further study and consideration by the Town Board.

At the time and place of the public hearing, all interested persons will be heard. Written comments may be submitted to the Town Clerk at or before the public hearing and will be made part of the record.

A copy of the proposed local law is available for public inspection in the office of the Town Clerk during regular business hours.
